Guide to Mental Health During Covid-19


Hello KG family! We are nearing the end of May & it still seems that there is no clear end in sight for this coronavirus pandemic. Some states are opening up more quickly than others, but I do believe some people are going to feel hesitant jumping back into a normal lifestyle. So, while most of us are still stuck at home, we wanted to give you some helpful tips & resources for you to use to stay mentally healthy in this time!

  1. Journaling. Journaling is one of the best ways to get some clarity of the mind. There is no better way to build a healthy relationship with you! Here is a list of some of our favorite journal prompts to get you started and keep you focused.

  1. Meditation. We cannot suggest this enough! Meditation is simply one of the best ways to improve your inner awareness and make positive mental changes! I am going to give you guys a link to one of the best guided mediation pages I’ve found. It has beginners meditations, spiritual mediations, even active mediation practices, & so much more!   1. Fitness. Look good, feel good am I right? Get out there to exercise and be active each day is actually so good for your mental health. It provides you with endorphins that give you happy, positive thoughts while boosting your energy levels. Moreover, staying in shape helps you feel good about yourself and your body image. During the quarantine, I’ve been staying fit through Finessista’s blog. Click on that link to find some amazing workouts that will keep you motivated and in shape throughout this time at home! One of my favorites is the Spell Your Name Workout. It’s so cool because you create your own customized workout and it certainly kicks my booty! Have fun with these and be sure to show up everyday to get one workout in!
  1. Diet. In addition to working out, how you eat also affects how you feel. If you are loading up on carbs and sugar, it’s likely that you are feeling groggy. On the other hand, if you are eating fruits, veggies, and grains you should feel an increase in your energy and overall mood. One of my favorite food bloggers is the Savory Vegan. She has so many amazing recipes for all different taste buds! Just the other night I made her eggplant rolls – OMG AMAZING! So simple and easy to make with just the right amount of ingredients, yum!
