Black Lives Matter and So Does Your Voice!

Happy Thursday friends! I know it feels like we have been fighting to see change with the BLM movement for some time now, however the fight is not over. We cannot give up and let the momentum we’ve built up fall to the wayside. Every voice matters in this movement & it is our responsibility to continue to learn, grow, and stand up against racism in the United States. If you are still looking for ways to do your part, this blog post is for you! Here are some ways you can still fight for justice and stand beside our friends in the black community during this time.

  1. Donate to organizations working towards change:
  • George Floyd Memorial Fund – a Gofundme page to support the Floyd family
  • Reclaim the Block – coalition that advocates for and invests in community-led safety programs in Minneapolis
  • Campaign Zero – organization that uses research-based policy solutions to end police brutality
  • Black Visions Collective – organization committed to dismantling systems of oppression and violence
  • Black Lives Matter – organization working towards systemic change and improvement in the lives of the black community
  1. Sign petitions! While the officers in George Floyd’s case have been charged, we are still seeking justice for the cases in which many other innocent black lives were taken.
  1. Read to educate yourself on white supremacy, years of systemic racism, & more!
  • White Fragility – Robin DiAngelo
